Hello! My name is Sam and I founded iNous as independent institute in 2021 to celebrate and share the timeless wisdom of Artistic Minds.

I’m an artistic researcher and content curator, passionate about researching, archiving and creatively arranging statements of wisdom related to living life artistically.

In 2018, after spending 20 years immersed in performing arts academia, I walked away from the stringent confines of institutionalised learning to pursue a more intuitive, organic and autonomous lifestyle. Stepping away from the material comforts and support structures of the University was both frightening and exhilirating. By my side were my husband Lanon Prigge (Artist, Muse and iNous contributor), and our homeschooling child.

The most significant knowing I received from my 20 years of teaching theatre, drama and embodied practises is that while it’s possible to teach about art – in the sense of imparting existing techniques, tried-and-tested tools and art history – it is impossible (and unnecessary) to teach artistry – as this is an infinite process of improvisation, discovery and refined reiteration unique to each individual.

Ultimately, I believe each one of us is our most sacred work of art unfolding in a greater Mystery which connects us all.
